| From the Vallejo Times Herald, Sept 19,1953 In 1946, the church met in the Community Building at Home Acres Ave with an attendance of approximately 50-60 in the Sunday School. At the time, the church owned no lots or buildings and had very little money to buy. In 1948, they church bought an old military building (now Ralstin Hall). This building was enlarged several times. Cars parked several blocks around the church. Construction of the new Bible Baptist Church building was started in September 1952. Outside of the framework, most work was done by members and friends of the church. The new building seats 620 persons, in addition to accomodations for 75 more persons in the choir loft and balcony. Space now used for the Sunday School can be devoted to seat 150 more persons, making the total capacity 845... the story of it's construction reads like a miracle. It is truly a monument to the Grace of God. |
